Parking is NOT available at Bear Creek Park. If you park there for the event they will tow you. The parking entrance is just 100 yards WEST of the Bear Creek Park entrance. There will be a sign out there for you to turn into the field to park. Parking is $10 cash. Three courses! 5K (3.1 Mile Fun Run), 10K Only in the SPRING EVENT (6.2 Mile Fun Run and additional 10K Competition Wave) and the Brand New APEX Super Obstacle Course - 200 yard - 20 Obstacle Mega Course (COMPETITION ONLY, 4 Lanes, Fastest is the winner. ****CAUTION Extremem Level of Fitness Required**** for the APEX Course). All courses are Military Style Obstacle Courses. For the 5K/10K you must be 16 years and older. For the APEX Course and Competition Wave of the 10K you must be 18 or older. What to Bring with you:
Bring your lawn chairs and tents. We will be having a festival with a live band after the event. So come and relax after getting Muddy. Most of all have Fun!
All COMPETITION Categories (teams and individuals BUT NOT DGAP) should be wearing “boots and utes”-combat boots and camouflage utility trousers or long pants (no tights) for safety. All COMPETITION Category Participants should wear BOOTS that cover the ankle and loose-fitting pants, cargo pants or sweat-pants. COMPETITION CATEGORIES ARE ONLY for the APEX Course and the 10K Comeptition Wave...THERE IS NO COMPETITION 5K !!!!!!! There are no awards in 5K. It is simply a fun run. In the DGAP division any attire goes (we suggest boots and pants since terrain is rough).
DGAP is also the CRAZY COSTUME division and there are no requirements to complete all obstacles if a participant does not feel inclined to do so. There are NO DGAP TEAMS..... OFFICIALLY. DGAP is an Individual entry but you can all run together and "call yourself" a team of any size or gender combination. If you want to run with friends in DGAP...register for the same start time!
Spectators are welcome and there is no charge other than parking. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Bring a chair or balnket and enjoy the music and fun! Drinking alcohol prior to the event start or during 5K or COMPETITION DIVISIONS will result in participant’s removal from the competition. Recommended race attire in COMPETITION Divisions is for the safety of all participants competing at a much faster pace and is more conducive to the rough nature of the obstacles along the course. Expect everything you wear to be covered in mud and water by the end of the race. Bring extra clothes and a towel! All DGAP participant are highly encouraged to wear the same attire as the COMPETITION groups but there is no requirement to do so for participation.
There are approximately 20+ obstacles to overcome along the 3.1 Mile course and 30 obstacles to overcome along the 6.2 Mile course some of which contain swim-depth water and mud and approximately 20 obstacles to overcome along Obstacle Fest 200 yd course which is an obstacle-only course with no mud and no water. Although none of the obstacles are impossible, they do require a certain level of strength and fitness and the potential exists for serious injury or death due to falls, trips, drowning and crawling. Cushioned Landing Areas and Lifeguards are risk mitigation measures ONLY ..... NOT GUARANTEES. You must decide if you are capable. You may very likely suffer an injury on the courses so you must be prepared to acccept that responisbility. Obstacles in the 5K/10K can be taken at any pace or skipped completely and thus the course is able to be completed by most anyone. In the Competition divisions obstacles must be attempted three times, however, if a competitive runner feels unsafe attempting the obstacle he/she is encouraged to go around the obstacle, speak to an official and request withdrawl from the event. Not attempting the obstacle the required three times will disqualify you from prize eligibility on the APEX Course. The only exception is with obstacles that involve swimming where an alternate route is always available. Should a competitive runner choose the alternate route instead of completing the swim obstacle he/she will not be penalized as the added run distance will be included in his/her overall time. It will challenge you more as you attempt a greater speed completing it. Safety will be the number one priority during the event. Participants will be required to conduct themselves in a controlled and serious manner while navigating obstacles. Anyone deemed to be a danger to themselves or others through reckless behavior, will be removed from the obstacle and/or the course. Volunteers will be course safety monitors and are present throughout the course. If you do not have the athletic ability to complete an obstacle you are encouraged to skip it. Please adhere to the tenets of the waiver and consult a physician prior to attempting this race. The requirements for stamina, upper body strength and swimming require the evaluation of a fitness professional. We highly encourage pants and boots since the obstacle course requires sliding, ropes that may burn, hay and many instances where abrasions are likely to occur to ANY exposed skin.
Dog wave is 5K only. Dogs must be on a 6' leash, be current on shots and not be in heat. Excessive barking and agressive behavior not allowed. Obstacles are same as those for 5K fun run. Dogs are allowed to attempt any swim, muddy obstacle, bridge or crawl. Vertical obstacles are for owners and we can assist with leash holds while climbing.

REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING PRE RACE PACKET PICK UP AT SPORTS AUTHORITY.
There are no changes or substitutions allowed inside of 7 days prior to the race and the are no refunds once registered. However unlikely, extreme weather and other conditions may result in a postponement of event to future date which you will be transferred to automatically should the need to do so occur. Event registration insurance is available through active.com. Parking is $10 cash. Please bring correct change or if you want you can pre-purchase a parking pass at packet pick up using credit card or cash prior to the race.

If you are picking up for someone else, simply bring a photocopy of their driver's license and their signed CONSENT form (below) saying you are authorized to pick up their paid entry (signatures MUST match waiver and ID). YOU MUST have a signed CONSENT and copy of PHOTO ID to pick up for someone else and YOU MUST have YOUR ID to pick up for YOURSELF.
